KIM MELCHER

DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS

Kim Melcher enters her third year as the Director of Communications for the Mountain West Conference.

In her role at the Mountain West, Melcher serves as the primary media contact for men's basketball, in addition to assisting with the overall communications operation and serving as a sport and championships liaison.

Prior to joining the MWC, Melcher worked for nine years at the Ohio Valley Conference, the last four as the league's Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations. Her primary duties at the OVC included oversight of the media relations activities for all 18 of the league's championship sports, with specific duties in football, men's basketball and baseball. In addition to serving as the media coordinator for the OVC baseball and basketball tournaments, Melcher was the media coordinator for the 2005 NCAA Men's Basketball First and Second Round Tournament in Nashville.

A native of Newton, Kan., Melcher holds a Bachelor's degree in finance and a Master's degree in sports administration from Wichita State University. She is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA).
