No. 17 BYU Moves Ahead to Elite Eight

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - No. 17 BYU swept 16th-ranked Middle Tennessee Friday night to advance to the Elite Eight of the 2007 NCAA Women's Volleyball Tournament. The Cougars defeated the Blue Raiders by scores of 30-28, 30-22, 34-32.

BYU will now take on regional host and No. 1 ranked Penn State Saturday night (December 8) at 6:30 p.m. ET. The match will be shown live on ESPNU. The winner will advance to next week's Final Four in Sacramento, Calif.

With the win over Middle Tennessee, the Cougars advance to their first Regional Final since 1998. BYU also becomes the first MWC institution to advance to the Regional Finals of the NCAA Volleyball Tournament since the inception of the Conference in 1999.
