Fort Collins, Colo. - In the last regular season match of the year for the ninth-ranked Colorado State volleyball team, the Rams celebrated their five seniors prior to the match and then defeated Idaho in three-games, 30-20, 30-19, 30-19 to improve to 26-3 on the year. Idaho ends its season 17-12.

Junior outside hitter Tess Rogers led the Rams with 17 kills, while senior middle blocker Katie Jo Shirley-Cahoon blistered 14 and senior outside hitter Becky Sarauer added 10. Cahoon also hit .684 for the match and led the team with five blocks. She and senior defensive specialist Kimi Foytich each had an ace and sophomore libero Kristen Karlik led the match with 11 digs. Colorado State hit .393 on the evening, while holding Idaho to .082.

Idaho was led by senior middle blocker Sarah Meek with 11 kills, while Saxony Brown hit .353 (7-1-17) to lead the Vandals. Erin Curtis led the team with three blocks, all of the solo variety and both Brown and libero Meghan Brown led the team with seven digs each.

`We played them pretty well tonight," said Colorado State head coach Tom Hilbert. "Our whole goal was to serve away from the libero and I felt like we needed to do a good job on their outside hitters and we did that. Our outside hitters were great tonight."

Colorado State awaits its 10th consecutive NCAA Tournament bid after winning the Mountain West Conference's automatic bid with the tournament title last weekend. The Rams will host a selection show party on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at CB & Potts on West Elizabeth Street. The show begins at 4:45 on ESPN News.
