San Diego State Coach Mark Warner:
We went into the match trying to get Colorado State out of rhythm, and
we did that for the first two games ... We had a plan and we stuck with it
... It worked well, but we couldn't stay with them (CSU) ... They (CSU) are
a tough team ... They (CSU) are tough at home ... They will do a nice job
carrying the torch for our conference into the NCAA tournament ... I wish
them luck tomorrow night.
Melissa Wright, SDSU Sophomore:
We kind of lost momentum in game two ... It's hard when you build a lead
and they come back ... I think we are a better team than at the beginning
of the season ... We're a competitive team ... We can compete with the best
in the conference.
Colorado State Coach Tom Hilbert:
SDSU played well, especially blocking ... They forced us to hit out of
bounds a lot, and that keeps teams in games ... But our team fought back
and turned it around ... This was a "create points" kind of match ... I
expect SDSU to be a good team in the future ...They played well ... I really
credit our team for fighting back ... Our team did some nice things on
defense and we did all we needed to do to score points ... If we pass the
ball well, we'll be able to do that tomorrow night (vs. BYU).
Hilbert on the rivalry with BYU:
CSU and BYU is a showcase for the league ... The level of play speaks well
to the NCAA and the seeding and to our conference ... This group wants
matches against the best teams ... It brings out their best ... It should be
a good one tomorrow.
Courtney Cox, Colorado State Junior (on blocking):
We have to be patient and keep the block in sight ... tonight we let some
things over our shoulders, but we really have to go after the block
against BYU.
Angela Knopf, Colorado State Junior (on the CSU lineup):
The coaches do a great job scouting, so we know all the positions ... We
have great communication on the court, so we are comfortable with
whatever the lineup is out there.
