Wyoming Coach Susan Judge:
On today's play: "Typical Wyoming performance ... have great points in
the match, but then we go the other way ... a little disappointed. Proud
of what I see happening on our team ... excited about next year. I want to
start practice next week, but I think my players would kill me.
Our goal is to beat BYU and we underachieved. We're working on
developing leadership. Our goal is to creep up and be among the elite
ourselves.
Our issue isn't defense, it's an intensity factor, a focus factor. We
have the ability to plan really well. It comes down to what we are
focused on.
It think is really hard not to play to the level of your opponent. My
athletes know they'll have to play really hard to compete.
Michele Rauter Wyoming Outside Hitter:
We have a lot of intensity, we
did everything we needed to do (in game 3). We don't play scared. We
come out knowing that we are going to get there.
BYU Coach Elaine Michaelis:
We saw both the good and bad side of the
Cougars today. In game three, we had a bit of a mental break. It took us
a while to get adjusted to Wyoming's short serve.
Michaelis Looking ahead:
UNLV is a much-improved team, if they put it
together they play really well. They are playing a lot better. Utah is a
good setting team. Good middle attack. Utah is a good solid team. When
we play Utah we play the best.
Nina Puikkonon, BYU Middle Blocker:
There were times I felt I was doing
what I was supposed to do. We were excited, the rest of our schedule is
ranked teams and all I can say is that we are excited.
