COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado State junior right-side hitter Dre Downs earned Mountain West Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, her third career honor.

Downs, a Clinton, Utah, product, helped No. 8 Colorado State capture a share of its fourth MWC regular-season conference title by pacing the Rams to victories over BYU and then-No. 17 Utah. She recorded 15 kills, including the game-winners in games two and three vs. BYU. She also got the kill that tied the score at 14 apiece in the fifth game, as CSU pulled out a 17-15 win in the deciding game of the match for the 3-2 victory. In game two vs. Utah, Downs had two kills and a block assist as part of a seven point run that turned a 21-19 deficit into a 26-21 lead. She finished the match with a .500 hitting percentage (10-1-18), three blocks and an assist as Colorado State beat Utah, 3-0, to gain their share of the regular-season crown with the Utes.

For the week, Downs averaged 3.12 kills, 0.62 blocks, 0.12 assists and digs per game, while hitting .385 (25-5-52). She recorded her 800th career kill against Utah, and currently sits at 803. She also has reached double figure kills in three of her last four matches.
