San Diego State (11-3) holds a slight lead for first place in the Mountain West women's volleyball standings this week ahead of Colorado State (10-3). The Aztecs travel to New Mexico on Saturday after a non-conference match with cross-town rival San Diego on Wednesday. The Rams are on the road this week at Air Force (Thursday) and Boise State (Saturday).
By The Numbers ... 1,808 - San Diego State senior Kristi Jackels ranks third on the MW career digs list with 1,808 over the past four seasons. 1,000-500 - Colorado State senior Megan Plourde cracked the 1,000-career kill mark on Nov. 10 against Fresno State. With 1,011 career kills and 595 career blocks, Plourde is just the third player in CSU history to have a 1,000 kill-500 block career. Her 595 career blocks ranks fourth in MW history, as well as her 560 block assists. 66 - Air Force snapped a 66-match MW road losing streak on Nov. 10 with a 3-1 win at Nevada. 4 - Wyoming senior Jodi Purdy will finish her career ranked in the MW top 10 in four categories. Purdy currently ranks second in career points (1,821), third in career attacks (4,169), fourth in career kills (1,523) and seventh in career service aces (133). Cranston Named Senior CLASS Award Finalist ... Colorado State's Dana Cranston has been named one of the 10 women's volleyball finalists for the 2012 Senior CLASS Award®. The award honors student-athletes who excel both on and off the court, having notable achievements in four areas of excellence - community, classroom, character and competition.
