COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado State junior Mekana Barnes and UNLV senior Lauren Miramontes have been named Mountain West Conference Volleyball Co-Players of the Week. This is the fourth weekly honor of the season for Barnes and the third for Miramontes.

Barnes led the 18th-ranked Rams to sweeps over conference foe Wyoming and Pac-10 opponent Arizona. She collected 14 kills and six total blocks, while hitting .481 in CSU's win over the Cowgirls. Barnes followed with a 10 kill, five total block effort in the Rams' 3-0 non-conference win over Arizona. On the week, Barnes averaged 4.00 kills, 2.00 blocks and 5.25 points per game, while only committing three hitting errors for a .438 hitting efficiency.

Miramontes led No. 25 UNLV to a 2-0 conference record and sole possession of first-place last week with wins over New Mexico and TCU. She had match-highs in hitting (.516), kills (17) and blocks (four) in the Rebels' three-game win over the Lobos last Friday. Miramontes had only one hitting error in 31 attempts vs. UNM, while also tallying two digs. Against TCU, she had a match-high 24 kills on the way to a .319 hitting percentage. Defensively, Miramontes had five total blocks and five digs as UNLV prevailed in four games. For the week, she averaged 5.86 kills, 1.29 blocks, 1.00 digs and 6.79 points per game while hitting .397.
