COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado State junior middle blocker Katie Jo Shirley and Utah setter/outside hitter Kelsie Kartchner earned Mountain West Conference Volleyball Co-Player of the Week honors. Kartchner is a first-time award winner, while Shirley earned her second honor.

A 6-0 junior from Hayden, Idaho (Coeur d'Alene HS), Shirley nearly posted her first career triple-double after totaling 19 kills, 12 digs and eight blocks, including two solos, in a four-game victory over Wyoming last week. Shirley averaged 4.75 kills, 3.0 digs and 2.0 blocks per game while hitting .548 (19-2-31) vs. the Cowgirls.

A 5-10 junior from Pleasant Grove, Utah (Pleasant Grove, HS), Kartchner showed her versatility by playing outside hitter and setter in the Utes' 6-2 offensive scheme last week. She posted her second triple double of the season with 11 kills, 25 assists and 12 digs in a 3-1 victory over BYU, marking the seventh straight win over the Cougars in series play. Kartchner also posted four blocks, including two solos, and hit .381 (11-3-21). She averaged 2.75 kills, 6.25 assists, 3.0 digs and 1.0 blocks per game.
