AIR FORCE SNAPS CONFERENCE MATCH LOSING STREAK
Air Force defeated TCU, 3-0, last Sunday at East Gym in Colorado Springs, snapping a 26-conference match losing streak. Before the win over the Horned Frogs, the last win in MWC play for the Falcons came at Wyoming on Nov. 15, 2003.

SAN DIEGO STATE'S CORDEIRO, TCU'S WHITFIELD AND WYOMING DIG NEW RECORDS
TCU sophomore Talaya Whitfield and San Diego State sophomore Aime Cordeiro set a new MWC all-time single-match record with 35 digs. Cordeiro set the new record vs. UNLV on Friday, Oct. 7, surpassing Wyoming freshman Carissa Lee's record of 34 digs set earlier this season. Whitfield tied the all-time mark vs. Texas-Pan American on Saturday, Oct. 22.

Wyoming set the MWC all-time single-match record for digs with 106 vs. Northern Colorado on Saturday, Sept. 3. The Cowgirls' mark broke BYU's record of 102, set on Nov. 23, 2001 vs. Cal Poly.

MWC IN THE NCAA STATISTICS
No. 16 BYU is currently seventh in win-loss percentage (.952) and 19th in hitting percentage (.275), while Colorado State is 10th in blocks per game (3.42). Utah is sixth in blocks per game (3.48) and TCU is ranked 12th in service aces per game (2.24).

Individually, BYU's Lindsy Hartsock is second in the nation in hitting percentage (.459) and Colorado State's Dre Downs is 13th in blocks per game (1.58), while Utah's Emillie Toone is 26th in blocks per game (1.46) and BYU's Lauren Evans is 25th in assists per game (13.04).

QUICK HITS
Air Force -- Air Force went 1-1 last week, including a sweep of TCU in conference play...The win over the Horned Frogs snapped a 17-match losing streak and was the Falcons first conference win since sweeping Wyoming to close out the 2003 season (26 matches)...Sophomore Brooke Akers recorded six solo blocks last weekend, bringing her season total to 31 and moving her into second on the Academy's Division I single-season list...Senior Carly Siefkin is just six shy of reaching 1,000 assists for the season...She currently sits at 994 assistst for the year which is fourth on the program's all-time Division I single-season charts.

BYU -- BYU was swept by Utah in Salt Lake City last week...The Cougars loss to the Utes was their first of the season...Last Friday's loss was head coach Jason Watson's first career loss...BYU (20-1, 11-1 MWC) dropped from 12th to 16th in this week's CSTV/AVCA Top 25 poll...Sophomore Erica Lott posted her sixth double-double of the season vs. the Utes with 13 digs and 11 kills...Junior Lindsy Hartsock is -- nation in hitting percentage (.459) and has recorded efficiencies of .500 or better in 14 matches on the year.

Colorado State -- The Rams went 1-1 in MWC play last week, losing to UNLV and defeating San Diego State...Senior Dre Downs moved up two spots on the CSU career kills chart over the weekend...She now ranks 14th with 1,092...She is currently nine blocks from reaching 400 for her career...Downs notched a four-game career-high kill total (22) vs. the Aztecs, one off her overall career total...Freshmen Ashley Fornstrom and Mekana Barnes recorded career-highs in service aces last week...Fornstrom set her career best vs. UNLV, while Barnes tallied her career high vs. San Diego State...Junior Katherine Whitney tied her season-high with 22 digs vs. the Rebels...CSU is averaging better numbers in every statistical category than its opponents, including over three kills per game better...The Rams are averaging 16.01 kills per game, compared to just 12.84 for the opposition.

New Mexico -- New Mexico posted a 1-1 record last week, including a conference win over TCU...The Lobos hit .375 vs. the Horned Frogs, their second highest hitting efficiency of the season (.452 vs. Delaware State on Sept. 16)...Freshman Sarah Kwasigroch dished 83 of UNM's 92 assists last week, including 45 of 51 vs. New Mexico State.

San Diego State -- The Aztecs went 0-2 in MWC play last week, losing at Wyoming and Colorado State...Junior Melanie Greene recorded her 11th and 12th double-doubles of the season, 13 kills and 11 digs vs. the Cowgirls and 18 kills and 14 digs vs. the Rams...Wyoming outhit the Aztecs .348-.142...Sophomore Aime Cordeiro tallied 30 digs last week and currently has 395 on the season which ranks fifth on the SDSU single-season dig chart...She continues to lead the MWC in digs with an average of 4.82 per game in all matches and MWC play.

TCU -- TCU went 0-2 in MWC play last week...Sophomore Talaya Whitfield led the Horned Frogs with 10 kills and nine digs...Freshman Nirelle Hampton recorded 51 assists on the week and currently sits at 996 for her career which is fourth all-time in the TCU record books...Junior Anna Vaughn is currently second in the MWC in service aces per game (0.48), third in the MWC in kills per game (3.82) and sixth in hitting percentage (.303).

UNLV -- UNLV posted a 1-1 record last week, beating Colorado State and losing to Wyoming...The Rebels win over the Rams was their first ever win in Fort Collins...UNLV now has eight wins in league play, which equals its highest win total in a conference season as members of the MWC...Freshman Camille Cunningham had a career-high 14 digs vs. CSU...Junior Lauren Miramontes had a career-high 24 kills vs. Wyoming...As a team, the Rebels hit .290, which is their highest hitting percentage in a loss this season.

Utah -- Utah upset then-No. 12 BYU, 3-0, giving the Cougars their first loss of the season...The Utes have won all 10 of their home matches this season and 11 straight home matches overall...Included in Utah's 10 home wins this season is upset victories over then-No. 17 Santa Clara and then-12th ranked BYU...The 10 straight home wins is the third-longest home streak in the program's history...Freshman Lori Baird has had five or more total blocks in each of the last three matches...She is Utah's leading blocker over that span, averaging 2.00 per game, including nine vs. San Diego State (10/22), six at TCU (10/29) and five vs. BYU (11/4)...She is second on the team in blocks, racking up 1.37 per game...Freshman Airial Salvo tallied a team-best 15 kills vs. BYU...She has collected double-digit kills in 11 of 12 MWC matches this season...Salvo averages 3.27 kills per game on .259 hitting in all matches in 2005 and 3.48 kills per game on .262 hitting in conference tilts...

Wyoming -- Wyoming went 2-0 in conference play last week, sweeping San Diego State and beating UNLV in four games...The Cowgirls have won four of their last five conference matches...Sophomore Rachel Smith recorded a career-high 34 kills vs. UNLV last Saturday, eclipsing her previous career-best 27 kills set earlier this season vs. Utah Valley State...Freshman Tasha Weishahn fell two assists short of her career high against the Rebels, finishing with 60...The Cowgirls beat SDSU for only the fifth time in the 30-match series history, while breaking a five match losing streak to UNLV dating back to the 2003 season.
