Utah Volleyball Falls in Four Sets at New Mexico Two Utes turn in double-digit kills.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Karolina Bartkowiak and Cinthia Silva both recorded at least 10 kills but the University of Utah volleyball team dropped a 3-1 match to New Mexico (25-23, 13-25, 25-27, 19-25) Thursday in a Mountain West Conference match at the Johnson Center. Utah (15-8, 8-3 MWC) has won nine of its last 12 matches but was outhit .189 to .107 in the match but the Utes held a 14-11 edge in team blocks. Bartkowiak hit 17 kills, her third straight double-figure-kill match and 16th this season. The Aurora, Ill., native now has 30 such performances in her career and also added seven digs and three blocks. Cinthia Silva came up with 12 kills and now has hit double-digits in kills in two straight matches and 20 times in her two-year career. Silva has had at least 10 kills in 11 of Utah's 23 matches this season. She also chipped in six digs and two blocks. A complete recap will be posted shortly.
