COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Five Mountain West Conference volleyball student-athletes were named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Women's Volleyball Academic All-District Team, announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Air Force's Caroline Kurtz, a biology major, and Wyoming's JennaRae Jester, a business administration major, were named to the District VII second-team. Utah junior Karolina Bartkowiak (Exercise and sport science) earned Division VIII first-team honors, while BYU senior Melissa Wright (Fitness and wellness management) and fellow Cougar Nicole Warner (sophomore, Exercise science) both earned District VIII third-team honors.

By virtue of being a first-team honoree, Utah's Bartkowiak will be placed on the national ballot for Academic All-America.
