THIS WEEK IN THE MWC Seven conference matches are slated for this week with Air Force at Colorado State and UNLV at Wyoming kicking the action off on Thursday night. In non-conference action, TCU travels to Norman, Okla., to do battle with No. 17 Oklahoma Tuesday night. MWC QUICK HITS BYU -- No. 18 BYU went 1-1 last weekend, sweeping Weber State and losing to No. 9 Utah...The Cougars have now swept 13 of the 22 matches played this year...BYU's match against Weber State saw the return of sophomores Amy Schlauder and Rachel Dyer from injury, marking the first time since Sept. 7 that the Cougars played with their original starting rotation...Schlauder had 34 assists vs. the Wildcats, while Dyer had a season-high seven total blocks. COLORADO STATE -- The Rams swept Wyoming last Thursday in Fort Collins, Colo...Freshman Katelin Batten notched a career-high 20 digs vs. the Cowgirls, giving her 272 for the season, which is a new CSU freshman dig record...CSU has now won 18 straight matches against Wyoming, the second longest active streak among any team...Colorado State's nine-match winning streak in conference play is the Rams' third-longest in MWC history (14 in 2003 and 10 in 2001). NEW MEXICO -- The Lobos went 0-2 in conference play last week...Sophomore Jeanne Fairchild led UNM with 13 kills vs. San Diego State...Freshman Allison Suiter had 12 kills vs. SDSU, along with a match-high .667 hitting percentage (12-0-18)...Sophmore Gayle Tripp had a match-best 22 digs vs. UNLV. SAN DIEGO STATE -- San Diego State defeated New Mexico and TCU in conference play last week...SDSU snapped a three-match losing skid with its win over the Lobos...The Aztecs hit a team season-best .396 (59-15-111) vs. the Lobos...Senior Melanie Greene notched her ninth double-double of the season vs. UNM (14 kills, 11 digs)...Junior Lindsey Mahan collected a career-high 14 kills vs. TCU. TCU -- TCU went 0-2 in league play last week, losing to UNLV and San Diego State...Freshman Lauren Otto had 12 kills and a career-high 20 digs vs. the Rebels, notching her 11th double-double of the season...Senior Calli Corley matched her career-best with 26 digs vs. UNLV...Sophomore Nirelle Hampton tallied 53 assists vs. the Aztecs, giving her 2,327 for her career which moved her into third in TCU's all-time record book. UNLV -- UNLV went 2-0 in conference play last week, beating TCU in four games and sweeping New Mexico...The Rebels are now 16-8 on the season...The 16 wins is the second most for the program since being reinstated in 1996 (UNLV won 23 matches in 1998)...With its sweep of the Lobos, the Rebels have now won 10 matches by a 3-0 margin...Overall UNLV is 10-4 in three-game matches this season...Junior Maria Aladjova collected her 11th double-double of the season with 19 kills and 12 digs vs. TCU...She fell one dig short of her 12th double-double as she had a season-high 22 kills and nine digs vs. New Mexico, hitting a season-high .404 for the match...She averaged 5.86 kpg and 3.00 dpg over the weekend. UTAH -- No. 9 Utah swept then-No. 17 BYU last Friday night, extending its school record winning streak to 18 matches in the process...Sophomore Airial Salvo served up a career-high six aces vs. the Cougars...She tallied six of the team's nine aces on the night...Salvo leads the Utes with 35 aces on the season (0.49 per game)...Junior Emillie Toone had seven block assists vs. BYU, upping her career total to 372 which moved her into fourth all-time in Utah's career record book...Utah has held its opponents to under .200 hitting in nine straight matches...Five of the Utes' nine opponents during the span have failed to top the .100 plateau...The Utes have had double-digit team blocks in all but three matches this year. WYOMING -- Wyoming went 1-1 in MWC play last week, losing at Colorado State and sweeping Air Force...CSU outhit the Cowgirls .291-.152...Freshman Annie Meyers and junior Angie Hellbaum led Wyoming with 10 kills apiece...Meyers also tallied 10 digs for her eighth double-double of the season...The Cowgirls broke a seven-match losing steak with their win over the Falcons...Senior Andrea Seele led Wyoming with 13 kills vs. Air Force.
