CONFERENCE RACE HEATS UP
Second-place UNLV (17-3, 8-2 MWC) swept league-leader and 20th-ranked Colorado State (15-5, 9-2 MWC) in a battle of the MWC's top two teams last Thursday in Las Vegas. With the win, the Rebels inched closer to the Rams in the league standings. BYU (15-6, 7-4 MWC) went 2-0 in conference play to move into third place in the rankings, while New Mexico (15-8, 6-5 MWC) fell into a three-way tie for fourth with its loss to TCU. The Horned Frogs (19-9, 6-5 MWC) and Utah (10-11, 6-5 MWC) share the fourth position with the Lobos. San Diego State (11-9, 3-6 MWC), which was idle last week due to wildfires in San Diego, sits in seventh place (11-9, 3-6 MWC), while Wyoming (10-11, 4-8 MWC) and Air Force (7-19, 0-12 MWC) round out the conference standings.
