San Diego State comes into Moby Arena on Thursday night with a 6-2 MW record, just behind host No. 25 Colorado State at 8-1 in the current standings. With a win by SDSU, CSU still has the edge for first place but would pick up its second loss of the season in MW action.

Notables:

  • CSU and San Diego State Battle on Thursday ... A shot at first place in the Mountain West volleyball standings is on the line Thursday night in Fort Collins. San Diego State comes into Moby Arena with a 6-2 record, just behind host No. 25 Colorado State at 8-1 in the current standings. With a win by SDSU, CSU still has the edge for first place but would pick up its second loss of the season in MW action.

    In other action around the league this week ... TCU will work to build its hold on third place with Air Force and Boise State in town. The match against the Falcons on Thursday night will be broadcast on The Mtn. (TCU Student Production; DirecTV 616). Wyoming hosts UNLV and San Diego State, while New Mexico hosts Air Force and Boise State.

  • Mountain West in AVCA Top 25 National Poll (Oct. 24) ... Colorado State (15-4) is back in the Top 25 in the AVCA Top 25 Coaches Poll released on Monday at No. 25.

  • NCAA RPI Released ... The official NCAA RPI is released on Monday afternoons. The RPI is one of the instruments used by the NCAA selection committee in November to select at-large teams for the postseason tournament and seed the bracket.

  • Fouch Assists 2,000 ... San Diego State setter Johnna Fouch reached the 2,000 career assist mark on Oct. 18 against No. 16 San Diego. Just a sophomore, Fouch has 2,058 career assists going into this Thursday's match at No. 25 Colorado State. TCU setter Megan Munce earned her 2,000th career assist on Thursday, Oct. 6 vs. UNLV.

  • Serving It Up ... Wyoming's Jodi Purdy and TCU's Kristen Hester are on pace to crack the 100-career service aces mark during the second half of the Conference season. Purdy currently has 97 career aces, while Hester has 91. Hester's teammate Megan Munce currently sits sixth on the Mountain West all-time career aces list with 119.
