MWC Volleyball Weekly Press Release No. 10 NO. 18 COLORADO STATE HOLDS ON TO CONFERENCE LEAD
With its sweep of BYU (13-6, 5-4 MWC) last Thursday, the No. 18 Colorado State Rams (15-4, 9-1 MWC) remain in first-place in the conference race heading into this week's action. UNLV (16-3, 7-2 MWC) held its second-place standing with a four-game win over San Diego State (11-9, 3-6 MWC) Friday night in Las Vegas, while New Mexico (15-7, 6-4 MWC) took sole possession of third with a 1-1 record on the week and the Cougars dropped into fourth. TCU (18-8, 5-5 MWC) and Utah (7-11, 4-5 MWC) are fifth and sixth in the league race, respectively, while Wyoming (10-9, 4-6 MWC) went 2-0 in conference play last week to move up to seventh. The Aztecs and Air Force (7-17, 0-10 MWC) round out the conference rankings.

A battle of the top two teams in the league highlights this week's conference schedule. First-place and 18th-ranked Colorado State travels to Las Vegas to take on second-place UNLV Thursday night to kick off this week's league slate. Friday's league contests pit Air Force at BYU, New Mexico at TCU and Wyoming at Utah, while Saturday will see Air Force at Utah, the No. 18 Rams at San Diego State and Wyoming at BYU.
Utah and TCU will also be in non-conference play this week. The Utes visit Utah Valley on Tuesday night, while the Horned Frogs host Baylor Wednesday night.
BYU'S CHELSEA GOODMAN SETS NEW ALL-TIME MWC DOUBLE-DOUBLES RECORD
BYU senior outside hitter Chelsea Goodman posted her 48th career double-double in the Cougars' loss to then-No. 21 Colorado State on October 18, setting a new all-time conference record for career double-doubles.
Goodman, who currently has 14 double-doubles this season, surpassed Michele Rauter's (Wyoming, 2000-03) total of 47 to take over the all-time lead.
COLORADO STATE HEAD COACH TOM HILBERT EARNS 450TH CAREER WIN
Colorado State head coach Tom Hilbert won his 450th career match in the Rams' 3-0 victory over BYU, Thursday, October 18, in Fort Collins. Hilbert has the most career wins of any current MWC coach.
In his 19th season as a head coach (11th at Colorado State), Hilbert has a career record of 450-140.
