MWC Teams Rank Favorably In Mid-Season NCAA Volleyball RPI
Oct. 12, 2007 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Mountain West Conference volleyball had five of nine institutions ranked in the top-50, which includes three schools earning spots in the top-30, of the mid-season ratings percentage index (RPI) report released by the NCAA on Friday (October 12). No. 23 Colorado State, BYU and UNLV each ranked in the top-30 of the RPI report and two more institutions (Utah and New Mexico) placed in the top-50. The 23rd-ranked Rams are 18th on the list, while BYU and UNLV rank 23rd and 28th, respectively, followed by Utah (42nd) and New Mexico (44th). TCU and San Diego State round out the conference schools ranked in the top-90, coming in at 64th and 86th, respectively. Featured conference matches this weekend pit BYU vs. Utah in the newly created Deseret First Duel, Friday night in Salt Lake City and UNLV hosting New Mexico in a battle for second place in the league standings Saturday night.
