NO. 23 COLORADO STATE REMAINS ATOP THE CONFERENCE STANDINGS
No. 23 Colorado State (11-4, 5-1 MWC) was idle from league play last week, but remains in first place in the conference standings. With two league wins last week, UNLV (13-3, 4-2 MWC) moved back into a tie for second place with New Mexico (13-5, 4-2 MWC), which went 1-1 in conference play on the week. BYU (11-5, 4-3 MWC) and Utah (7-9, 4-3 MWC) are tied for fourth, and TCU (16-6, 3-3 MWC) and San Diego State (11-6, 3-3 MWC) are tied for sixth. Wyoming is 2-5 in conference play, while Air Force is 0-7.

WEEK EIGHT PREVIEW
This week's volleyball action kicks off Tuesday, October 9, with two non-conference matches. Wyoming plays host to Northern Colorado, while BYU hosts Utah Valley State in a match that will be shown live on BYUTV and via tape delay on The Mtn., Wednesday, October 10 at 8 p.m. MT. Both matches are set to begin at 7 p.m. MT. In other non-conference action, Air Force will take on Chicago State on Saturday, October 13.

League play resumes on Thursday with No. 23 Colorado State at Air Force. BYU at Utah, San Diego State at New Mexico and UNLV at TCU comprise Friday's slate, while the 23rd-ranked Rams at Wyoming, San Diego State at TCU and UNLV at New Mexico matches on Saturday completes this week's conference play.

MWC QUICK HITS
Air Force -- Senior Kim Kallabis currently sits in 10th place on the all-time Air Force assists list with 1,249 helpers...She needs just 114 more assists to take over ninth-place on the list...Kallabis led the Falcons with 18 assists and tied for team-high honors in service aces (three) vs. San Diego State last Thursday...Freshman Stephanie Stanford leads the MWC in service aces per game (0.50) in conference matches.

BYU -- Senior Chelsea Goodman notched her 44th and 45th career double-doubles last week, and now needs just three more to surpass the MWC all-time mark of 47 held by former Wyoming player Michele Rauter...Senior Erica Lott ranks in the top-25 on the MWC's career double-doubles chart with 22...The Cougars are 17-2 in the month of October under head coach Jason Watson...BYU is 4-1 in five-game matches this season...BYU is 17th in national attendance this season, averaging 1,609 fans per contest.

Colorado State -- With its win over Northern Colorado last Tuesday, Colorado State's home winning streak improved to 10 matches...The Rams are 21-4 over the last two seasons in Moby Arena...Seven of CSU's 11 wins this year have been sweeps...Junior Ashley Fornstrom currently sits at 3,374 career assists, which is fifth all-time in Ram history...Her assists total is good for 11th in MWC history.

New Mexico -- UNM defeated then-No. 23 BYU in Provo for the first time since October 13, 1995, last Saturday...Sophomore Anna Lehne hit a season-high .688 (11-0-16) vs. the Cougars...Freshman Lisa Meeter is tied for the league lead in double-doubles with 11 on the season...She had 14 kills and 15 digs vs. BYU.

San Diego State -- San Diego State hit a season-high .421 in its win over Air Force last Thursday...The Aztecs have won 20 of their last 21 matches vs. the Falcons...The win over Air Force was the 200th for head coach Mark Warner...Senior Kristen Castillo and junior Leah Lathrop both had 25 assists vs. Wyoming...Senior Lindsey Mahan led SDSU with 16 kills and a season-high .562 hitting percentage.

TCU -- Senior Calli Corley had a career-high 33 digs in TCU's upset victory over Utah...Corley also claimed the all-time TCU digs mark in the second game of the match, surpassing Marci King's (1998-2001) 1,197 digs for the top spot on the charts...Corley also reached the 1,200 dig plateau in the second game...The win over the Utes stopped a four-match losing streak.

UNLV -- All 14 UNLV players saw action in both matches last week...Freshman Alyssa Erickson dished out 33 assists in two matches last week, including a career-high 29 vs. Air Force...Senior Lauren Miramontes had 24 kills in 38 attempts, while registering one one hitting error for a .605 hitting percentage in two matches on the week...She also tallied back-to-back season-highs in hitting efficiency.

Utah -- Utah leads the MWC in opponent hitting percentage, holding the opposition to just a .159 efficiency...The Utes have twice held opponents below a .100 percentage (Dayton [.080] and Air Force [.008])...Senior Whitney Webb has led Utah in its last three matches with 3.67 kills per game, a .287 hitting percentage and 11 total blocks...She had a team-high 19 kills vs. TCU last Saturday...Sophomore Chelsey Sandberg tallied a career-best 10 kills and a .562 hitting percentage vs. New Mexico last Friday.

Wyoming -- Wyoming's win at San Diego State on Saturday was its first in San Diego in 16 attempts...The win over the Aztecs snapped the Cowgirls' five-match losing skid...After playing just two of their first 15 matches at home, the Cowgirls will host their next four contests.
