Mountain West Announces Women's Volleyball Player of the Week - October 1, 2012

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado State outside hitter Dana Cranston has earned Mountain West Women's Volleyball Player of the Week honors for matches played from Sept. 24-30, 2012. It is the first Mountain West weekly honor for the 6-3 native of Fort St. John, British Columbia, Canada. Cranston, a senior, led the Rams to a 2-0 week with Conference wins over Nevada (3-0) and San Diego State (3-0). Cranston hit a season-best .565 against Nevada with 14 kills, four digs and two blocks. Against San Diego State, she hit .476 with 11 kills and 10 digs for her fourth double-double of the season. Cranston served up a career-high six aces in the match as well. She was the kill leader for CSU in both matches. For the week, Cranston averaged 4.17 kills, 2.33 digs and 1.00 aces per set, while hitting .523. She averaged 5.50 points per set over six total sets.
