Sept. 21, 2004

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - As part of their deepening relationship, the Mountain West Conference has reached an agreement with CSTV: College Sports Television [www.collegesports.com], the fastest-growing independent cable network, to televise all matches of the 2004 MWC Volleyball Championship. This year marks the first time ever that all seven championship matches will be available to a national audience. The MWC is the only conference to have all matches from its conference championship nationally televised.

Colorado State will host this year's event Nov. 18-19-20 at Moby Arena in Fort Collins, Colo. Quarterfinal matches are scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 18 at 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. (MT). Semifinal matches will take place Friday, Nov. 19 at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. (MT) and the championship will take place at 3 p.m. MT on Saturday, Nov. 20. The afternoon quarterfinals, the semifinals and championship will appear live on CSTV, while the evening quarterfinals will air tape delayed.

The winner of the 2004 MWC Volleyball Championship will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The MWC has earned 15 NCAA Tournament bids the past five years with Colorado State advancing to the Sweet 16 four times in that span. BYU has made the round of 16 twice and Utah once.

Last year, the MWC was the only conference to televise all matches from its conference championship and ranked third in overall television appearances behind the Pac 10 and Big Ten. This season, the MWC will have nine appearances on CSTV--the most by any conference. In addition to MWC tournament coverage, the Colorado State at Nebraska regular season contest will air live on CSTV Nov. 7, while the Colorado State at Utah regular season match will air Nov. 14. The nine appearances on CSTV in 2004 are the most for MWC volleyball on any single network since the league was formed in 1999. Now in year two with its CSTV Sunday Night Spikes: AVCA match of the Week package, CSTV has more college volleyball coverage than any other television entity.

In addition to television coverage, all matches of the 2004 MWC Volleyball Championship will be available via GameTracker Live, which can be accessed at CSTV's www.CollegeSports.com. The exclusive GameTracker Live feature uses the latest interactive technology to provide fans with live volleyball action point-by-point.

The landmark CSTV-Mountain West Conference partnership announced last month begins in 2006. It incorporates all conference-related media and marketing rights, including all television, national over-the-air and satellite radio, video-on-demand, online, broadband and exclusive corporate sponsorship rights. As part of this partnership, CSTV and the Mountain West will launch Mountain West TV, the first-ever regional sports network dedicated solely to an intercollegiate athletic conference, in the fall of 2006. The groundbreaking venture will ensure television exposure for nearly every MWC football and men's basketball contest, and reconfirm both the MWC and CSTV's commitment to coverage of women's intercollegiate athletics.
