Colorado State and BYU Volleyball Ranked in 2008 CBS College Sports Network/AVCA Preseason Top-25 Poll

Colorado State earned a No. 17 ranking, while BYU nabbed the No. 20 spot and Utah received votes in the 2008 CBS College Sports Network/AVCA Division I Coaches Top-25 Preseason Poll released August 19 by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
Defending MWC regular-season champion Colorado State returns five starters (10 letterwinners overall). CSU participated in its 11th straight NCAA Tournament in 2007, advancing to the second round for the eighth time during that span. The Rams open their season Friday, August 29, vs. Arkansas at the 2008 Hilton Classic in Fort Collins, Colo.
BYU returns three starters and eight letterwinners overall. Last season, BYU became the first MWC institution to advance to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight, falling to the eventual 2007 National Champion Penn State to end its season. The Cougars open their season August 29 as hosts of the BYU Molten Classic against Utah State. BYU advanced to its seventh NCAA Tournament appearance as members of the MWC in 2007.
Utah welcomes back five starters and eight letterwinners to a team that advanced to the championship match of the 2007 MWC Tournament. The Utes kick off the 2008 season on August 29 hosting the Ute Invitational vs. Utah Valley.
The MWC has had at least one team ranked in the preseason top-25 nine out of the last 10 years.
