Claire Bieber, Ayesha Hein Named MW Scholar-Athletes

Hein paced all Academy honorees with a 3.99 GPA.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Air Force volleyball freshman Ayesha Hein and sophomore Claire Bieber were honored with Mountain West Scholar-Athlete distinction, the conference office announced this morning (June 20).

With a 3.99 grade point average in astronautical engineering, Hein recorded the highest GPA of all Air Force cadet-athletes en route to her first MW Scholar-Athlete medal. Bieber, who also claimed her first such award, completed her second year of classes with a 3.58 GPA in political science.

To be eligible for the Mountain West Scholar-Athlete award, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition in an NCAA-sponsored sport.
