Colorado State Sweeps Home Spring Tournament Rams Defeat Colorado and U.S. National Training Team
April 9, 2007 The Colorado State volleyball team swept both the University of Colorado and the United States National Training Team at Webber Junior High on Saturday afternoon in its only home spring tournament of the year. The Rams opened play at 9:30 against the Buffaloes, defeating CU in three games, 25-17, 25-22, 25-11. In the 11 o'clock match, the U.S. team defeated the Buffs in three games and then in the 12:30 match, the Rams swept the U.S. team, 25-23, 25-22, 25-21. "Our team competed very well today," said Head Coach Tom Hilbert. "We were efficient and very low error which is critical against a great defensive teams like the USA. We are very pleased with the progression of our younger players. Jo Wallace and Tessa Nelson were outstanding today. (Tonya) Moke (Mokelki) might have had the best all-around match of her career against the national training team." Colorado State closes its spring season at Nebraska on Saturday, April 14, at 3 p.m. at the NU Coliseum. Tickets for that match are on sale at Huskers.com or by calling the Nebraska Ticket Office at 800-8-Big Red.
