FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The Colorado State Rams swept the Utah Utes Saturday afternoon at Moby Arena to capture the team's second consecutive Mountain West Conference Tournament Title in a battle of the regular-season co-champions. The top-seeded Utes fell to the two-seeded Rams by scores of 30-18, 30-16 and 30-18.

Colorado State advanced to 25-3 on the season with the win. Junior Tess Rogers led the way for the Rams, pacing all players with 14 kills and committing only one hitting error for a .591 hitting percentage. Behind Rogers, the Rams had a balanced attack, as five other players had at least five kills in the match. Senior Katie Jo Cahoon and junior Dre Downs each had nine kills. As a team, Colorado State hit .381 for the match, including a .417 performance in game three to close out the match. Cahoon also led the Rams with four blocks and tied senior Melissa Courtney for the team lead with three aces each.

Utah, who falls to 23-5 on the season, struggled throughout the match, hitting .099 as a team and committing 24 errors, to Colorado State's 10. Junior Danielle Leichliter was a bright spot for the Utes, recording 11 kills and 4 errors, for a .250 hitting percentage. Sophomore Amy Toone was second on the team with seven kills for the Utes.

Utah had no services aces in the match, while recording eight service errors and were out blocked by the Rams by a 9-1 margin. The Rams also posted six service aces in the match to Utah's zero.
