No. 2 Colorado State Sweeps No. 7 New Mexico At MWC Volleyball Championship Rams to continue play on Friday against BYU.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The second-ranked Colorado State Rams swept No. 7 New Mexico 30-21, 30-16, 30-20 in the final quarterfinal match of MWC Volleyball Championship Thursday night at Moby Arena in Fort Collins, Colo. Four Rams hit over .400 in the match including Bri Frech who recorded a match-high 10 kills and hit .421 for the contest. Setter Melissa Courtney registered 39 assists while Katie Jo Shirley-Cahoon tallied a match-best five blocks to go with eight digs on the evening. The Rams hit .351 on the night as a team while holding the Lobos to a .093 hitting percentage. New Mexico's Kelly Therkelsen had eight kills to lead the team while hitting at a .429 clip on the night. Therkelsen also tallied a team-high three blocks along with teammate Chelsea Sondrup.
CSU improves to 23-3 on the season and will play BYU in the second semifinal match Friday at 3:30 p.m. New Mexico finishes its season at 9-17.
