No. 4 UNLV Defeats No. 5 Wyoming At 2004 MWC Volleyball Championship UNLV's Tarin Keith records match-high 23 kills.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - UNLV's Tarin Keith recorded a match-high 23 kills and hit at a .386 clip to lead No. 4 UNLV to a 3-1 win over No. 5 Wyoming in the first round of the Mountain West Conference Volleyball Championship Thursday. UNLV hit an impressive .362 for the match as a team including a game-four percentage of .500 besting Wyoming's team hitting production of .155 in the contest. Along with Keith's 23 kills, Rebel Brittany Lumsden and Lauren Miramontes made good on 15 and 12 kills, respectively to round out UNLV players in double figures. Setter Nicki King registered 51 assists while Jada Walker had 23 digs to round out the Rebel's top performers. Wyoming's Rachel Smith paced the Cowgirls with 16 kills in the match while Amy Doman recorded 41 assists. UNLV (15-11) advances to the second round of the tournament and will face top-seeded Utah at 1 p.m. Friday. Wyoming rounds out its season with a 13-14 record.
