Provo, UTAH - For the eighth straight season, the Colorado State volleyball team has reached 20 wins in a season. The Rams won a three-game decision at BYU tonight, 30-26, 30-28, 30-19, to hit their 20th win of the year and win the Mountain West Conference Regular Season Championship for the third straight year. CSU is now 20-8 overall and posts a 12-2 record in Mountain West play while the Cougars fall to 12-16 overall and 7-7 in league action.

Colorado State was led by sophomore middle blocker Katie Jo Shirley who posted a career-high 19 kills and hit .484, while Tess Rogers added 13 kills and Andreya Downs had 12. Shirley also led the Rams with five blocks and Lindsey Kerr led all players with 14 digs and had the second kill of the season in game one.

"Our middle blockers were doing great things tonight," said head coach Tom Hilbert. "We didn't block at all in the first game and a half but ended the match with eight and did a great job. BYU shut down Becky at first and then she tweaked her ankle in the third game and Casey Bauer came in and did a great job."

BYU was led by Allison Larson with 11 kills, while Lindsey Metcalf led the team with seven digs and Laura Nielsen had a team-high five blocks.

"I'm really proud of our players," Hilbert added. "We've grown a lot during the second half of the season and have played with a lot of maturity. I'm glad this core group of players is coming back for the next couple of years because they are awesome."

The Rams will host the Mountain West Conference Championship in Moby Arena from Nov. 21-23. Tickets are still available at 491-RAMS or toll free at 1-800-491-RAMS.
