Fort Collins, Colo. -- Improving to a perfect 10-0 against Denver in school history, the ninth-ranked Colorado State volleyball team swept the Pioneers in Moby Arena, 30-20, 30-21, 30-20. The Rams are now 17-2 on the year, while Denver falls to 10-11.

Junior outside hitter Tess Rogers led the match with 14 kills, while junior outside hitter Casey Bauer added 11 kills and senior middle blocker Katie Jo Shirley-Cahoon hit a match-high .571 (9-1-14).

Sophomore libero Kristen Karlik led the match with 14 digs and senior setter Melissa Courtney recorded her sixth double-double of the year with 46 assists and 10 digs. Courtney also recorded a season-high six blocks, including a solo stop.

"This was a good match for us tonight," said Colorado State Head Coach Tom Hilbert. "We stayed consistent throughout the match and did some new things blocking that really worked. Casey played a great game tonight. She and Katie Jo aren't hitting the ball out of bounds right now. They're both hitting high and athletic and either getting dug or making kills, which is great. The team also continues to pass really well."

Denver was led by Amanda Millard with 13 kills, while four different players recorded six digs and three had three blocks on the night. Kristin Halt led the squad with two solo blocks and Alyssa Hampton had the only ace of the evening for the Pioneers.

Colorado State returns to Mountain West Conference play on Friday evening against San Diego State and then the Rams will face UNLV on Saturday. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
