FORT WORTH, Texas - The eighth-ranked Texas Longhorns snapped TCU's 15-match winning streak, handing the Horned Frogs a 3-0 (16-25, 15-25, 19-25) loss in front of a record crowd Tuesday night.

Kristen Hester led the Frog attack with nine kills. Sloane Sunstrum pitched in with five, while Jordan Raines, Yvonne Igodan and Stephanie Holland all tallied four. Megan Munce dished out 22 assists and totaled five digs. Meghan Horio served up a pair of aces and had four digs. Sarah Joeckel led the Frogs with 10 digs.

Texas jumped out to an early 6-2 lead in the first set, but the Frogs battled hard to get back in the set. Kills from Raines and Sunstrum brought the Frogs back within two, 9-7. Hester and Munce battled at the net and kept the deficit manageable, trailing 15-12 at the media timeout.

The break stifled the Frogs momentum and the Longhorns went on a 5-0 run to open up a commanding 19-12 lead. A solo block by Holland and an attacking error by the Longhorns made it a 20-16 set, but that was as close as TCU would get as the Longhorns closed out the 25-16 set one win.

In the second set, the Frogs took the early 4-2 lead on three Longhorn hitting errors and a kill from Sunstrum. Khat Bell put Texas back on the offensive with a kill and the Longhorns rattled off five straight points before Sunstrum put a stop to the rally with her second kill of the set.

TCU would work the set to a 10-all tie on a pair of Horio aces and two kills by Hester. Texas regrouped and went on a devastating 8-3 run that put the Frogs in a five-point hole, 18-13. Bell gave the Longhorns a 2-0 match lead with a service ace, sealing Texas' 25-15 set two victory.

The third set proved to be just as competitive as the second as the teams battled through seven ties and two lead changes. With the set tied at seven, a kill by Rachael Adams put the Longhorns in front to stay. TCU kept the set close as Hester, Raines and Sunstrum fired off kills and the Frogs trailed by just two, 15-13, at the media timeout.

Once again, the break stymied the Frogs rally and the Longhorns opened up a six-point lead, 22-16, with a 7-3 run. Igodan, Sunstrum and Holland tried to keep the Frogs in the set with kills, but it wasn't to be as an Adams' kill locked up the 25-19 set three win for Texas.

TCU falls to 13-1 on the season. The Horned Frogs hit the road to open up league play Friday night at New Mexico. First serve against the Lobos is set for 8 p.m. (CST).
