FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU volleyball team rolled to a 3-0 (25-11, 25-11, 25-9) victory over Grambling State Saturday afternoon. A total team effort saw the Horned Frogs hit .515 in the match, the fourth best mark in school history. Kristen Hester, Mattie Burleson and Yvonne Igodan led the way with six kills apiece.

Megan Munce assisted on a match-high 19 kills and pumped in four kills on four swings. She added three digs and two blocks to her afternoon. Hester served up three of the Frogs' nine aces in the match, while Sloane Sunstrum and Meghan Horio each contributed a pair of aces. Sarah Joeckel led the way with six digs in the match. Burleson collected a match-high four blocks. Maddy Brown finished the afternoon with four kills.

Grambling put up an early fight in the first set before the Horned Frogs reeled off six straight points to open up a 9-4 lead. Kristen Hester was a key cog in the run with a kill and two service aces.

TCU continued to roll behind loud kills off the hands of Igodan, Sunstrum and Munce. A blast from Munce made it a 10-point game, 16-6, and a 4-0 run behind the serving of Joeckel pushed the lead to 20-9. A kill from Sunstrum gave the Frogs set point and Burleson finished off the 25-11 win with her first career kill.

In the second set, the Horned Frogs rode the hot hand of Sunstrum to a 13-2 lead. The junior reeled off 12 straight points on her serve. The TCU block came alive at the net as Burleson teamed with Munce and Brown on a trio of denials on the outside. Sunstrum served up a pair of aces in the run as well.

Burleson started up another rally with a kill and then served the Frogs to an 18-5 lead. Igodan, Brown and Courtnee Davis pumped in kills during the rally for TCU. An attack error by the Tigers gave the Frogs set point and a block from Emily Kirby and Burleson locked up the 25-11 set two win.

TCU led from start to finish in the third set as it wrapped up the match victory with a 25-9 win in set three. Horio got the Frogs rolling with a 5-0 run that opened up an 8-3 lead. A kill by Igodan doubled up the Tigers, 12-6, and TCU cruised from there. An ace from Horio gave the Frogs match point and an attacking error by Grambling State sealed the victory.

TCU (2-0) returns to the court Saturday night against UConn. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at the University Rec Center.
