Dec. 10, 2002

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Colorado State women's tennis player Sanja Hansson is ranked 12th in the Central Region in singles competition in the Omni Hotels Collegiate Tennis Rankings.

The Intercollegiate Tennis Assn. lists the top 30 players in the Central Region, which includes 33 institutions representing 10 different conferences.

Hansson, a senior from Helsingborg, Sweden, last fall had a 12-2 singles record - including 12 victories in a row. She also won the BYU Invitational and the Drake Invitational.

Hansson's ranking is the highest by a women's tennis player in school history.

"Sanja played with a lot of confidence this fall," said Rams' coach Jon Messick. "She established herself as one of the top player sin our region. She should be a great benefit to our team as we enter our spring dual match season."
