Boulytcheva Sets Sights on Nationals The ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships occur between Nov. 3-6 in Columbus, Ohio.
Nov. 1, 2005 PROVO, Utah - Olga Boulytcheva will be grouped with the top 32 tennis players in the country this week as she competes in the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships Nov. 3-6 in Columbus, Ohio. "This is huge for Olga," BYU head coach Craig Manning said. "She's been good for a while and gets better every year, and now she's playing her best as a senior." Boulytcheva qualified for the championships through her stellar play at the Women's Central Region Championships where she made it to the championship match before withdrawing because of BYU's decision not to play on Sunday. She is the first Cougar to qualify for nationals in nine years. While playing in the National Indoor Championships is an honor for Boulytcheva, Manning said it also benefits his entire team. By watching their teammate compete against the best in the nation, each member of the team knows they are capable of playing at that level as well. "This really raises the bar for the entire team," Manning said.
The ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships are being hosted by The Ohio State University at the Racquet Club of Columbus.
