The Rams started their season at the BYU Invitational last weekend winning twelve matches. Junior Emily Kirchem went 2-1 in the #2 bracket, while senior Jasmin Singh had a 2-1 weekend in the #6 bracket. Doubles teams of Kirchem and senior Dasha Zhurin and senior Alexandra Paganetti and Singh both went 2-1 winning the consolation brackets. Zhurin was fourth overall in the #1 bracket losing to Lauren Jones of BYU in the third- place match. Jessica Jones was also fourth in the #5 bracket losing to Marisa Mechem of the University of Denver in her third- place match.

About the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships... Two Rams, Senior Dasha Zhurin and Junior Emily Kirchem, will head to Pacific Palisades, Calif. for the Riviera/ ITA All-American Championships this weekend. This is the first of three Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) singles and doubles tournaments of the season. This event will feature the top players in NCAA Division I tennis and is the premier hard court event of the fall season. The tournament begins with a 128- player prequalifying tournament at UCLA. They will then advance to the qualifying tournament Oct. 5-6 at Riviera. From there eight players and four doubles teams will advance to the main draw Oct. 7-10 at Riviera. The famous Riviera Tennis Club has played host to this event since 1988.

About the Air Force Invitational...
The Rams will be competing at the Air Force Invitational Oct. 8-10 in Colorado Springs, Colo. They will be part of an eight team tournament consisting of Air Force, Colorado, New Mexico, Denver, Wyoming, UTEP, and Georgia Southern. The complete Rams team will compete in both the singles and doubles tournament.
