Three members of the Air Force women's tennis team were selected to the Mountain West Conference all-academic team Wednesday. Two of the players, Heather Shelby and Kelli O'Bryant, are repeat selections, while Brooke Parsons was selected for the first time.

Parsons, who graduated from the Academy in May, led the Falcons with a 24-7 overall singles record. She was 18-4 in dual matches during the 2001-02 season, all at the No. 1 position, and 6-1 against Mountain West Conference opponents, earning her a spot on the MWC all-conference team. Parsons graduated with a 3.09 GPA in behavioral science.

Shelby, from San Diego, Calif., posted a 14-21 overall singles record, splitting time between the Nos. 2 and 3 positions. She combined with Gina Black to produce an outstanding 23-11 record at No. 2 doubles. The senior-to-be carries a 3.35 GPA in management and was also named to the all-academic team in 2001.

O'Bryant earned a spot on the all-academic team for the third consecutive year with a 3.26 GPA in management. The senior-to-be from Colorado Springs was 13-19 overall in singles during the 2001-02 season, and paired with Ashley Gee for 9-7 doubles record.
