Colorado State University junior tennis player Lauren Strasburger won the women's title at the Denver City Open on Sunday, defeating Susan Wright, 6-4, 6-2 in the finals.

Strasburger, a native of Brentwood, Tenn., also joined forces with CSU teammate, senior Hilary Tyler, to capture the women's doubles crown. Strasburger narrowly missed the sweep, partnering with Ted Burghardt to place second in mixed doubles.

As a sophomore last season Strasburger posted an overall record of 14-15 for the Rams, while competing a majority of the time as the Rams No. 2 singles player.

Tyler, a native of Grand Junction, transferred to CSU from Iowa, and earned All-Mountain West Conference honors in 2007 while setting a school record along with senior Emily Kirchem for doubles wins in a season with a 22-2 (10-1 MWC) record.
