Six Horned Frogs to compete in Baylor All Saints Pro Tennis Classic Tournament begins on Sunday
June 16, 2006 FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU women's tennis players Helena Besovic, Nicole Leimbach, Andrea Morgado, Anna Sydorska, alum Story Tweedie-Yates and newcomer Nina Munch-Soegaard will compete in the 2006 Baylor All Saints Medical Centers Pro Tennis Classic scheduled to take place June 18-25 at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. Besovic concluded her TCU career this past spring and posted a record of 31-9 in singles play and a 29-9 mark in doubles action. For her efforts, she was named the ITA Southwest Region Senior Player of the Year and garnered All-MWC accolades in singles and doubles. She finished the season ranked 29th in the ITA polls. Leimbach, currently ranked 634th in the world rankings, holds the 10th position in the competition and is a direct entry in the singles main draw. Hailing from Colorado Springs, Colo., Leimbach finished 19th in the final ITA standings after posting a 24-8 record in singles and grabbing All-MWC plaudits. Doubles teammates Morgado and Sydorska must make their way into the tournament through the qualifying draw. As a tandem, the duo earned Mountain West Conference honors for their play. Individually, Sydorska was named the MWC Freshman of the Year and the ITA Southwest Region Freshman of the Year. Tweedie-Yates will compete in the tournament for the second straight year. In 2005, Tweedie-Yates battled her way to the finals in singles play before falling to eventual champion and Dallas product Tara Snyder. Concluding her TCU career in 2005, she became the first player in program history to advance to the NCAA Singles Championship. Munch-Soegaard will begin her TCU career in the fall of 2006. She is a singles main draw qualifier and is ranked 553rd.
