Cowgirl Tennis Signs Three Student-Athletes Chien, Williams and Moser to join the Wyoming program this fall.
June 11, 2002 LARAMIE, Wyo. -
University of Wyoming head tennis coach Pam Wildt announced today the signing of three student-athletes to attend the University of Wyoming in the fall of 2002. "I expect each of these girls to come into the program and make an instant impact on our team's success," said head tennis coach Pam Wildt. "Patricia Chien, Megan Williams and Gwen Moser will be great additions to the tennis program. They have the enthusiasm, excitement, energy and athleticism, which are the qualities we need to keep getting better."
Here are the signees.
Patricia Chien, Dixon, California (Davis High School): An All-City and All-Conference selection at Davis Senior High School in Dixon, California. She was a Conference and Delta League champion, along with being selected Most Valuable Player. Chien was coached in high school by Paul Oachs. An excellent student, she was a member of the honor roll throughout high school. The daughter of Jason and Catherine Chien.
Gwen Moser, Parkersburg, West Virginia (Williamstown High School): A two-time All-State selection and State Runner-Up at Williamstown High School. She was also a four year captain and Region II Champion at the number one position. Moser was coached in high school by Jay Carter. Besides tennis, she also lettered in Cross Country and Track and Field. An excellent student, she is a National Honor Society member and a four year representative in student council. The daughter of Jug and Lisa Moser.
Megan Williams, Vancouver, British Columbia (New Westminster Secondary):
A three-year team captain at New Westminster Secondary. She helped her
team to a City Championship. Also was a head junior tennis coach. An
excellent student, she was named to the honor roll throughout high
school. Williams was coached in high school by her father and Greg
Haywood. Also participated in basketball, swimming and field hockey. The
daughter of Anthony and Brenda Williams.
