COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Eight men and seven women from the Mountain West Conference found themselves in the final 2007 FILA Intercollegiate Tennis Association Collegiate Tennis Rankings for singles and doubles which were announced last week. Of the nine member institutions, student-athletes from BYU, San Diego State, TCU, Utah and UNLV were on the list.

On the men's side, two student-athletes appeared in the singles top 50. San Diego State senior Markus Dickhardt finished at No. 35 with a 26-9 season record. Dickhardt, the 2007 MWC Player of the Year, advanced to the round of 32 in the 2007 NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championship, which took place in Athens, Georgia last month. Elliot Wronski, a UNLV sophomore, ended up at No. 50 with a 20-13 overall record. Wronksi also advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championships and is a member of the 2007 All-MWC team.

Other singles rankings included No. 57 Utah junior Zach Ganger (27-12), No. 68 BYU senior James Ludlow (22-14), and No. 93 TCU junior Cosmin Cotet (11-9). The three were also members of the 2007 All-MWC team.

Three MWC men's doubles teams were ranked as well with San Diego State's Dickhardt and Christian Groh (14-8) finishing highest among the trio at No. 30. The duo received All-MWC honors in April and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament last month. TCU's Cotet and Kriegler Brink (16-4) were also on the list at No. 44, along with Utah's Ganger and Miron Mann at No. 56.

Representing the women in the conference, Ana Cetnik, a TCU senior, finished at No. 45 in the singles category with a 26-10 overall record after receiving All-MWC honors and advancing to the second round of the 2007 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship. Co-MWC Women's Players of the Year, UNLV's Elena Gantcheva (19-9) and BYU's Anastasia Surkova (32-7), appeared on the list at No. 75 and No. 88, respectively.

TCU's Anna Sydorska (22-12) and 2007 MWC Freshman of the Year, Nina Munch-Soegaard (24-8), were also ranked in singles at No. 91 and No. 109, respectively.

Three women's doubles teams represented the conference on the list as well. TCU's Cetnik and Sydorska finished 25-7 for the season after advancing to the NCAA tournament semifinals, landing them at No. 3 in the ITA rankings. UNLV's duo of Gantcheva and Kristina Nedeltcheva (24-4) came in at No. 18 after advancing to the round of 16 in NCAA Tournament action, while BYU's Surkova and Jenny Miccoli finished at No. 38. All three duos were named to the All-MWC team earlier this year.
