LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's team and one of its players were included as part of the final 2003 edition of the Omni Hotels Collegiate Tennis Rankings, which were released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

The Lady Rebels (16-6) fell four spots to finish 34th in the nation after dropping their final two matches, including a first-round NCAA meeting with Illinois on May 10.

UNLV had set a school record with a preseason ranking of 17th and remained in the top 25 for three months, peaking at No. 15 on February 15 en route to its first-ever regular-season Mountain West Conference championship.

The only player to earn a spot in the final release was sophomore Tracie Chong, who moved up one position to No. 119 (out of 200) in singles. Chong led the team in victories with a 26-10 record, which improved her career slate to 50-19.

No women's doubles players or any men's players made the final rankings.
