Stanford, Calif. - No. 31 Maja Kovacek had a tough loss today against No. 10 Theresa Logar from Stanford (6-0, 7-5) in the round of 64 from the NCAA Individual Championships at Stanford's Taube Tennis Center.

"It's such an achievement to get into the tournament," head coach Kathy Kolankiewicz said. "We feel very lucky to have gotten this far. The quality and the level is the best that you'll see in the college level and Theresa Logar definitely looked it. She is a solid player."

Kovacek finished her singles season with a 23-14 overall record. She is UNM's only two-time All-America honoree. Logar will go on to play fellow MWC player Helena Besovic from TCU.

Kovacek and doubles partner Iva Gersic are set to play No. 27 Kim Coventry and Carolina Escamilla from the University of Kentucky tomorrow. The UNM tandem is currently ranked 4th in the nation.
