Colorado Springs, Colo. ­ For the second day in a row, UNLV¹s Katarina Malec came back to win a three-set match in the individual portion of the 2000 NCAA Division I Women¹s Tennis Championship. Hosted by the University of Pepperdine at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center in Malibu, Calif., the event continues through May 26.

The senior rallied for a 5-7, 6-1, 6-3 win to upset the tournament¹s No. 6 seed Alison Bradshaw from Arizona State in today¹s third round action. Malec will next face Bruna Colosio, a No. 9-16 seed, in Thursday¹s quarterfinal match at 10 a.m. The lone Mtn. West representative remaining in the event, Malec has advanced further in the NCAA Championship than any women¹s player in UNLV history.
