SDSU Women's Tennis Doubles Team Begins Play in NCAA Championships on Tuesday

Aztec duo of Tornier and Erichsen earn spot in 32-team field

SAN DIEGO - San Diego State's Silvia Tornier and Indra Erichsen will begin play in the 2003 NCAA Division I Doubles Championship on Tuesday afternoon in Gainesville, Fla.

The Aztec duo, ranked 34th nationally, will face 17th-ranked Alexis Gordon and Julia Scaringe of Florida in the first round.

Tornier and Erichsen were originally named the second alternate, but earned a spot in the 32-team field when two teams withdrew.

The doubles championship which begins on Tuesday goes through Saturday, May 24.
