COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The NCAA announced singles and doubles entrants for the 2006 NCAA Tennis Championships Thursday, and 10 Mountain West Conference student-athletes were among the field. TCU led the way with three singles entrants and one doubles team in the draw. Overall, five MWC institutions were represented.

UNLV's Elena Gantcheva and TCU's Andrei Mlendea earned automatic bids in singles, while doubles automatic qualifiers included New Mexico's Iva Gersic and Maja Kovacek, and San Diego State's Markus Dickhardt and Benedikt Stronk. Four additional women's singles players earned at-large berths, including Nicole Leimbach and Helena Besovic of TCU, BYU's Olga Boulytcheva and New Mexico's Maja Kovacek. The Frogs' duo of Besovic and Ana Cetnik also earned an at-large bid in doubles. Nick Coutts and Zach Ganger of Utah, and Dita Hauerlandova and Sisse Nielsen of San Diego State were selected as alternate doubles teams.

The 2006 NCAA singles and doubles competition will take place May 23-28 at Taube Tennis Center in Stanford, Calif., following the conclusion of the team championships (May 18-22).
