San Diego, Calif. - Colorado State sophomore Emily Kirchem was named to the all-Mountain West Conference women's tennis team. The award marks the second all-MWC selection of her career at CSU.

Kirchem, a native of Fairview, Ore., compiled a 20-10 overall singles record on the year including a 14-4 mark at the No. 2 spot and a 2-1 record at No. 1. Kirchem posted a 4-3 mark in Mountain West play in 2005 including a three-set win over New Mexico's Maja Kovacek who was tabbed as the league's co-player of the year.

In doubles play, Kirchem teamed with Anne Andersen and Dasha Zhurin for a 15-14 record at the No. 1 position.

In her career, Kirchem has tallied a 42-20 singles record while posting a 26-34 doubles mark. Currently, she ranks ninth in the CSU record books with a .667 winning percentage in 2005 after ranking sixth in the category in 2004.

Kirchem received the MWC Player of the Week award twice during the season.

Colorado State faces UNLV in the first round of the MWC Championships in San Diego Thursday.
