Women's Tennis Players Earn All-Conference Honors Five Aztecs earn spot on all-MWC list.
April 26, 2001 FT. COLLINS, Colo. - Five members of the 46th-ranked San Diego State women's tennis team were named to the 2001 all-Mountain West Conference team Wednesday night at the league's championship banquet in Ft. Collins, Colo. Aztec sophomores Lindsey Hedberg, Katja Karrento and Silvia Tornier along with senior Whitney Wells were named to the conference singles team. The doubles pairs of Tornier and Hedberg, and Wells and junior Julie Chidley earned space on the doubles squad. Karrento and Wells are two-time all-MWC performers. Brigham Young's Jodi Richardson was named conference player of the year and UNLV's Agnieszka Abram earned freshman of the year honors. The league's coach of the year will be announced following the conclusion of the championship on Saturday.
