April 25, 2002

Air Force senior Brooke Parsons has been selected to the Mountain West Conference women's tennis all-conference team for both singles and doubles. This is the second consecutive season she has been named to the singles team, and the first honor for her and sophomore Laura Nigro in doubles.

Parsons produced an outstanding senior campaign in 2001-02, posting a 24-7 overall singles record and 16-4 mark in dual matches, all at the No. 1 position. She was 6-1 against MWC opponents, and was named MWC player of the week on Mar. 13. Entering the 2002 MWC Championships, which begin Thursday, April 25 in Provo, Utah, Parsons has 84 career singles victories.

Parsons and Nigro combined for a 23-7 overall doubles record and were 14-6 in dual matches. The pair was 4-3 versus MWC opponents, all at the No. 1 position, and advanced to the finals of the Coors Light Lobo Invite earlier this season in Albuquerque, NM.

Parsons' 47 total victories this season is the most in one campaign since Air Force moved to Division I in 1996.
