UNLV Tennis Playing Through Setbacks The Las Vegas Review-Journal Feature Story

By Jeff Wollard LAS VEGAS - In many ways, the regular season was a disaster for the UNLV women's tennis team. Coach Kevin Cory watched a promising season suffer blow after blow, as one key player quit and four others were hobbled by injuries. But somehow, the Rebels emerged from the experience relatively unscathed. In fact, they appeared to grow stronger with each new hardship. On the other hand, men's coach Larry Easley was not so fortunate. When top recruit Kobi Ziv was declared ineligible in January, Easley saw his team's season go into a tailspin from which it would never recover. The Rebels finished 2-12 overall and 0-5 in league play, their worst finish in team history.
