Player of the Week

Colorado State senior Sanja Hansson has been named Mountain West Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week. This is Hansson's first ever player of the week honor.

Hansson, a Helsingborg, Sweden, native, went 3-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles over the weekend, helping the Rams to victories over Utah and Wyoming. She started her week with a straight set victory over Wyoming's Patricia Chien (6-2, 6-2) at No. 1 singles. She also teamed with Dasha Zhurin to beat Chien and Kati Gyulai at No. 1 doubles, 8-2. Against Utah, she beat Ellen Svensson, 6-1, 7-6 (1), at the No. 1 spot and teamed with Zhurin to beat Svensson and Allison Hansen at No. 1 doubles, 8-1. Hansson also defeated BYU's Leeza Klempner in straight sets (6-2, 6-2) at No. 1 doubles. Hansson is now 24-6 overall in singles on the year, which sets the CSU school record for winning percentage in a single season. She also needs one more victory to tie Allison Lisle for most career singles victories at Colorado State.
