COLORADO STATE, Colo. -- San Diego State's Markus Dickhardt and Colorado State's Emily Kirchem have been named the Mountain West Conference men's and women's Tennis Players of the Week, respectively.

Dickhardt went 3-1 while helping SDSU to a 1-1 record last week as the Aztecs defeated No. 75 Arizona (5-2) before dropping a 5-1 decision to No. 11 North Carolina. Playing at the No. 1 spot in singles action, the senior from Marburg, Germany, ran his consecutive win streak to seven matches, defeating Arizona's Claudio Christen (6-3, 6-3) and staging a 6-1, 6-2 upset of UNC's 40th-ranked Benjamin Carlotti.

Dickhardt also picked up a win in doubles play, teaming with freshman Juan Gomez at the No. 3 slot to post an 8-6 victory over Arizona's Milos Romic and Bruno Alcala.

Kirchem won each of her six matches as CSU posted a winning trifecta with 7-0 sweeps of Colgate, Dayton and Bucknell. At the No. 1 singles position, the senior from Fairview, Ore., defeated Colgate's Jackie Couture (6-2, 6-1), Dayton's Kate Mellion (6-0, 6-0) and Bucknell's Paulina Gamboa (6-0, 6-0) in straight sets, losing only three of the 36 games.

In doubles play, Kirchem took over as the Rams' all-time leader in career doubles victories (61 wins), teaming with junior Hilary Tyler at the No. 1 spot to beat Colgate's Couture/Elise Derose (8-1), Dayton's Mellion/Allysa Detroy (8-4) and Bucknell's Gamboa/Carlin Calcattera (8-5).
