COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Air Force's Shannon Buck and New Mexico's Ola Abou-Zekry have been named the Mountain West Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Players of the Week, respectively.

A senior from Spokane, Wash., Buck won all six of his matches last week. He was 3-0 at No. 1 singles, winning all three matches in straight sets. He defeated Idaho State's Marc Pijoan (7-5, 6-2) to lead the Falcons to a 4-3 victory over the Bengals. The 15th-ranked player in NCAA Division I, Buck also defeated Northern Arizona's Gareth Ducray (6-0, 6-1) and South Dakota State's Zack Lunak (6-0, 6-0). In No. 1 doubles, Buck teamed with Trevor Johnson and Grant Keaton to post a 3-0 mark last week as the Falcons improved to 4-2 on the year. Buck is 16-4 overall in singles play and ranks first all-time at Air Force for singles win percentage in dual matches at 70-6 (92.1 percent).

A sophomore from Cairo, Egypt, Abou-Zekry won all four matches she competed in last week, while helping the 38th-ranked Lobos to victories over UTEP (7-0) and No. 60 Texas Tech (6-1). At the No. 3 singles spot, she defeated UTEP's Katherine Palider (6-4, 6-1) and Texas Tech's Janet Durham (6-0, 6-4). At No. 2 doubles, she teamed with Lucy Scott to defeat the Red Raiders' 23rd-ranked doubles squad (8-6) and teamed with Maja Kovacek for a doubles win over UTEP.
